Chris Bauer's full-service build and repair facility on Highway 101 west of Port Angeles (just before the Lower Elwha gas station), opened 2019 and expanded into a bigger shop in 2024. Chris trained as a hand-sander under Joe Roper in Pacific Beach, then sanded and glassed for Clyde Beatty Jr., Steve Walden, Christenson Surfboards and Bob Haakenson before launching his own ding-repair business in 2012 and shaping under his own name in 2014. Drop-off repairs (deck/rail dings, delaminations, stringer rebuilds, fin box replacements, leash plugs) go through NxNW Surf Co in Port Angeles, with 6–8 week turnaround. Custom Bauer boards stocked at NxNW (Port Angeles), Urban Surf (Seattle), Cleanline Surf (Seaside, OR), Base Camp (Seabrook) and The Surf Shop (Westport).
